Recycled Bird

ReFabricates and Recycled Bird

Jo Deconstruction is a fellow North Eastern recycler and creator, working under the moniker of Recycled Bird –  because she recycles, makes bird brooches, and is also, ermmm….. a bird (in some sort of post modern feminist statement).

This crazy woman is a mother of 3, keen political activist, community linchpin, gardener, allotment holder and on top of it all she finds time to run art workshops and create beautiful artefacts from recycled stuff. Woman after my own heart!

Her brooches are online here:

and you can add her on facebook here:!/profile.php?id=100002459136699

But don’t think that is all. Jo also makes teacup candles from soy wax with a lavendar scent ( my friends will know this because they all got one for Christmas!) and cake stands from plates and glasses.

We have shared a lot of local stalls with Jo, and have another major one coming up -Newcastle Green Festival.

The festival runs 4th and 5th June at Leazes Park and is completely free. As well as bands, children’s entertainment and food, there will be a host of stalls selling anything green from horticulture to art.

We’re looking forward to setting up shop there and showcasing some of our ideas for making something beautiful from someone elses’s rubbish.

Maybe see you there?
